Calen McGregor is my original character, please do not use without my permission.
Taking time on the crowded first class section of the airplane, Calen opened her laptop to surf the web, hoping it might make her relax enough to get some sleep. After sifting through the very entertaining letters Gene had on his site, she went over to KISSONLINE to see if a new batch of letters were posted in Paul’s section. To her delight, there were. She sat back and began to read. As she got through almost half of them, a particular letter caught her eye.

Hi Paul! I’m a 42 year old teacher who
has been a KISS fan for most of my life.
I hope this isn’t too personal, but with your recent divorce and all, I
was just wondering…would you ever consider getting married again? If so, to whom? Thanks for all that KISS does for us fans and don't ever stop
rockin’ all night!
Love, Kate
Jackson, Mississippi
Hi Kate,
While I tend to keep much of my personal life very
private, I would say that the notion of marriage isn’t very far from my
mind. I have a very special person in
my life and would love nothing more than to take that plunge once more. Unfortunately, like most things, it takes
two to tango, and I don't think she is quite ready to take our relationship to
that level. It may come and it may not,
but in the end, I know she will always mean the world to me. Thanks for caring!

Calen scratched her head in wonder. Had she missed something? When did Paul start dating someone so special he’s thinking of marriage? She was struck almost dumbfounded by that new revelation. Now she couldn’t wait to get home and find out just what the story was.
No sooner than she dropped her bags down at home, she grabbed her car keys and sped off towards Gene’s house, her mind full of questions. Paul would be tightlipped as usual, but if anyone knew what was going on, it would be Shannon. She pulled up and parked in front and was surprised to find an Extra TV truck up next to the house and slightly hidden from view. She got out and leaned against her car, opting not to go up to the door just yet. Not wanting to interrupt what apparently was taping for a segment, she stood for a few minutes and decided whether to wait or to leave. She wasn't really in the mood to get on camera, so she got back into her car, but something out of the corner of her eye stopped her. It was Nick. He came down the front steps, waving for her to get out, but she hesitated. When she didn't get out right away, Nick ran out to her car. But instead of opening her car door, she rolled down the window.
“Hey, aren’t you gonna come in?” Nick teased. Calen frowned at him.
“I don't think so, I don't want to interrupt anything.”
“Its ok, they're just filming Dad and his ‘office’.” He assured her.
“I can come back, I just wanted to talk to your Mom for a few minutes, I’m not really in the mood to get on camera today. I just got off the plane. Its nothing, I can come back.”
“Yeah, she’s here. Come on in. They’re almost done. I’m sure they wont film you.” Nick giggled slightly.
Calen wondered if Nick was really on the level or not, but her need to see Shannon overpowered her resistance to the camera. When they walked in, sure enough, Gene was showing the Extra cameraman, who she knew as John, through the large house and enjoying every minute of the spotlight. When the cameraman spotted Calen, he stopped immediately what he was filming and spun around. “Miss McGregor, how are you?” he asked, adjusting the lens on his camera. Calen hoped that maybe it was broken and he couldn’t film anymore.
“Fine, how’s it going today? Anything wrong with the camera?” she asked.
“Oh, no, just fixing the lens to get a double shot of you and Mr. Simmons.” He assured her. She wasn't pleased.
“Not today. I just got off a plane and I just…”
Gene snickered. “Come on now, you're gonna miss a golden opportunity to get on camera?”
“You look just lovely Miss McGregor, as always. Just one shot of you and Gene, please?” John pleaded.
Calen looked around for Nick, who had tricked her, but he had disappeared quickly into the kitchen. “I just don't know.”
John put the camera on his shoulder. “Just walk back to the door so I can get you coming in.” he instructed. She gave up and shrugged her shoulders. She walked back to the door and stood, waiting for him to turn on the camera.
“Ok, ready? Go..” he said and Calen turned on her game face, walking in and acting surprised to see the camera.
Gene smiled and walked over, giving her a very friendly and flirtatious hug, something he normally didn't do unless he was being filmed.
“See? You just never know who’s gonna drop in here.” He said, playfully swatting her butt. She retaliated by pinching his side, which made him twitch. She laughed outloud.
“I’m just too much woman for him, and he knows it.” She retorted. Gene stuck his tongue out at her and the cameraman turned off the camera.
“Good job you two.” John said. “I think I got all I need. Thanks Mr. Simmons, Miss McGregor.”
Calen was a bit disappointed. “All that begging for 20 seconds of film?” she asked.
“I told you it wasn't gonna be much, I just needed a little banter between the two of you. That wasn't so bad was it?” He laughed as he took his camera and went outside, with Nick in tow, who popped outta the kitchen. When the door shut, Calen turned to Gene and swatted him in the arm.
“Why do you ALWAYS do that to me?” she asked.
“Cause its so much fun to watch you squirm.” He replied, giving her a big hug.
“Ugh…where is Shannon anyway?” she pulled away from him, playing as if she hated his advances, but she really loved flirting with him. They may now be friends, but she was still a fan.
“Oh you love me and you know it.” He teased. “She’s in the living room.” He pointed. “Have a good time.”
“Thank you Sir.” She walked into the living room and found Shannon on the phone. When she spotted Calen, she smiled and motioned for her to sit down. Calen could see she was not enjoying herself.
“Just call me tomorrow and we’ll set it all up…yes, that’s fine. I think it will be great. Yes, I know. Look, I have company, I’ll talk to you tomorrow ok?” Shannon shrugged her head at Calen, who was amused to see her squirm. “Yes, I know. Ok, yes, that will be fine. Thanks for calling…I…really need to go now…yes, ok, goodbye.” She hung up the phone, fell back into a chair and sighed. Calen giggled.
“Who was that?” she asked.
“The mother of one of Sophie’s friends. Several of us are planning a sleepover for all the girls, but no one wanted to talk to this particular woman cause she tends to, well…”
“Talk your ear off?” Calen interrupted.
“Exactly.” Shannon laughed. “She’s very nice, but man, she doesn’t know when to say goodbye. Anyway, how was your flight home?”
“I slept a good bit of the way, but it was crowded, so I kept signing autographs.” She laughed.
“So if you didn't get much rest, what are you doing here?”
“Well, I was curious about something, and I knew you would have the answers.”
Shannon perked up. “Yes?”
Calen got up her nerves. “I was reading some responses to Paul’s letters on KOL. So, anyway, one letter asked him if he would get married again and if so, who would it be.”
“Ok, so?”
“Well, he responded that he had a special person in his life and that marriage was a possibility. Now, I know it’s none of my business, but I haven’t heard any mention by Paul of a special person. I mean I know he started seeing Leslie again, but that was a while back wasn't it?”
Shannon scratched her head. “Well, if he’s seeing someone, I swear he hasn’t mentioned it to me, or to Gene for that matter, or he would have said something to me. That’s really weird. I have no idea who he could mean, I would guess it would have to be Leslie.”
“Yeah, I guess so.” Calen sighed.
“I thought you liked Leslie.”
“Oh, I do, she’s great, it’s just…ugh, never mind.”
“She’s not you.” Shannon continued her thought.
“Is that so awful? I mean, I’ve known Paul for what, 5 years now and were really close friends, but you know how long I’ve wanted to be more than friends? Hell, I used to dream of marrying him. Of course, I was only 12.”
“Calen…” Shannon leaned in. “Why can’t you just tell Paul what you're telling me? You know him as well as I do. He would listen and understand.”
“You know how many women scream that they love him? I’m simply one in a million. There is a whole sea of us like that.”
“Now, that’s not true. That’s just not true. You KNOW Paul, the real man inside. You two have sat for hours talking about stuff, deep, private stuff. Things that maybe only Gene knows. Both of your hopes and dreams, fears…things that I don't even think Pam knew. So, you can’t look me in the eye and say that Paul only considers you just one of the crowd.” Shannon retorted sternly. She could hardly believe that Calen would lump herself into a group like that.
Calen sighed deeply, over come by the embarrassment of her earlier statement. She did truly know better. She just didn't want to allow her mind to think that a intimate relationship with Paul was even possible. “I know you're right. It’s just, well, I just hate the idea of being rejected.
“Well, maybe so, but if anyone could be honest, yet kind about it, it would be Paul. And, who’s to say he would reject you?”
“Wouldn’t it be obvious that he doesn’t want to have that kind of relationship? If he had, he would have said something, wouldn’t he?”
Shannon sat back and smiled. “Why would he? You haven’t.”
Calen’s mouth dropped, she had no retort for that. “Why do you keep throwing logic in my face?”
“Cause you're not thinking logically, that’s why. When you think with some sense, I won’t have to keep reminding you.” Shannon joked. Calen scowled, but knew she was right. She had to come to accept that she and Paul didn't have much of a chance of becoming more than friends.
“I just wish I knew what to do about this.” She sighed.
“I know. I wish I knew what to tell you, but my guess is to go to the source and ask who the lucky gal is. Then, you will have the answers you need.”
“Oh good lord, sure I’ll just walk right up and ask him that.” She shook her head while Shannon laughed. “I think I’ll just join a convent and then I won’t have to worry about all this love crap anymore.”
She joked out loud, but inside, her heart broke at the thought of Paul marrying someone else.
Part Two
Paul paced around his bedroom, his laptop open on the bed. He stared at the page, and at the letter that sat right there for the whole world to read. He would have issue with Mike later for placing the letter in the section without his permission, but for now, he had to stew with the consequences of letting such a private answer slip out into the public. He also had to own up to what part he played in allowing the letter to be sent in to begin with. He was sure he had only sent the response to the young lady who wrote the letter, not to Mike to post with the others, but had he? He traced the steps over in his mind, over and over until he was almost sick inside. He waited patiently, for nearly an hour, until the letter finally disappeared from the screen. He sighed, grateful he was able to reach Mike in time and he agreed to remove it. But, in the end, the damage was done and Paul couldn’t help but wonder just how many people did read the letter, and more importantly, his response.
Gene stood at the door of Paul’s bedroom watching him stare at his laptop, then shut it. He knocked gently on the doorframe, as not to alarm him. Paul turned and spotted Gene standing there, and shook his head slowly.
“How long have you been standing there?” he asked. He wasn't accustomed to Gene just walking into his house unannounced.
“Just a few seconds.” Gene paused a moment, waiting to be scolded. “I knocked, but I guess you didn't hear me, so I came upstairs. You ok?”
“Yeah, I guess so. I made a mistake that I’m not sure can be fixed. Hopefully, it will die down and go away.” Paul said, but he didn't really believe it. Gene shook his head.
“What happened?”
“I took the time to answer a letter privately, with a footnote not to publish the answer since it was just for her. Well, I guess wires got crossed or something, but Mike published it with the rest of the answers on Paul Speaks.”
Gene’s eyebrows lifted. “Oh…well, what was it?” he asked.
Paul decided to let Gene read the letter and response. He opened his laptop back up and searched till he found the original letter. He pushed the laptop toward Gene. “Here. Read it.” Gene sat down on the bed in front of Paul and read. When he finished, he grunted slightly to himself.
“Ummm…Leslie?” he asked. Paul’s heart sank. He didn't have the nerve to say whom he was really referring to.
“No, not Leslie. We’re still friends, but we haven’t seen each other socially in nearly 9 months.”
Gene was initially stumped. “Well, I haven’t seen you date anyone but Leslie. Have you been seeing anyone else I don't know about?” he asked.
Paul shook his head. “No.”
“Then who in the world would you been considering marrying if you haven’t been seeing anyone? That’s just….” He stopped cold when he saw Paul’s expression. “Oh…” he murmered. “It’s Calen isn’t it?”
Paul looked down and Gene groaned a bit. “Yeah, I noticed that weepy look you get whenever you mention her.” Paul looked up and got irritated. “I don't get weepy you son of a bitch. What's with you anyway?”
Gene threw up his hands. “Look, I didn't mean it that way. I just don't get how you can be so upset over an innocent response to a letter? What do you think is gonna happen?”
“I’m not saying anything will happen. I just didn't intend for it to be put on the website, that’s all.”
Gene wasn't buying it. “Don't try to give me that crap. I know what your panicked over. You're afraid that Calen will not only read it, but come to you and ask who the lucky woman is. Then, when you try and lie to her about it, she’ll see right through her. You can’t lie to her, you don't want to lie to her. She knows when you're lying. What's gonna bother her is that you claim to be able to tell her everything, yet you chose not to tell her this little, yet rather important part of your life. My guess is that she might be pretty irritated with you won’t she?”
Paul wasn't in the mood to hear anything he had to say. “Look, if Calen gets upset, and I mean IF, I’ll deal with it. Got it?”
“Well, you better figure out how to deal with it fast, cause Calen is home, and I heard her and Shannon in the living room talking earlier, and it sounded pretty damn serious. I didn't listen in to everything, but I did hear the mention of a letter on KOL. So, my friend, you better start polishing up a story, cause I have a feeling Calen will be paying you a visit very soon.” Gene smirked, satisfied with himself for catching Paul off guard. It wasn't something he did very readily. Paul on the other hand was beginning to realize that Gene was telling the truth when the phone rang. The caller ID showed Calen’s cell number. She knew he had to be home, so he had no choice but to answer it.
“Hello?”
“Hey, its me.” Calen’s voice rang through the little bit of static, indicating she was in the car.
“Hey yourself baby. When did you get in?” he asked back, trying to act as non-chilant as possible. Gene was trying to keep a straight face, but he was losing.
“About 9am. I took the red-eye. Look, I’m about to hit a dead spot and the phone’s gonna die, but I was wondering if you were gonna be out and about later. I wanted to ask you something, uh, well, talk to you about something.”
“Oh, well sure thing, I wasn't going to go out tonight, but if you want to meet somewhere…?” Paul started.
“Yeah, or I can come by your place. It doesn’t matter.”
“Well, no, the place is….a mess. Maybe we can meet at Evolution later?”
Calen paused and Paul wondered if the connection died. “Calen?”
“Yeah, I’m here. That’ll be fine. How about 8:30?”
“Sounds fine. See ya then.”
Calen tried to speak, but the connection was lost. Paul hung up the phone and sighed. Gene couldn’t help but chuckle at the hole Paul was digging himself into. “Uh, the house is a mess?” he chuckled.
“Ok, so I panicked. Do you think she bought it?” he asked hopefully.
“Not for one second.” Gene replied. Paul sighed. “I didn't think so.”
Calen pulled back into her driveway and parked. She sat for a moment or two to take in what she had done. Panic and regret filled her mind and she picked up her cell phone to call Paul back to tell him not to worry about meeting her. She dialed, but got nothing. Checking her cell, she found it dead. Damn, she thought to herself, grabbing her purse and going up to her back door. There she met Annalee, her elderly neighbor from across the lake. Annalee stopped when she saw Calen.
“Hey there.” she said, walking back up the small rock path. Calen ran to help her so she wouldn’t stumble.
“Hi Miss Annalee. How are you?” Calen asked.
“Fine dear. How was your flight home?” She answered, taking Calen’s arm. They walked back up the path together.
“It was fine, I slept a bit. What are you doing out this way?”
“Oh, I was delivering your mail to your back door.”
“Where’s Jonah? I thought he was bringing it? You don't need to be walking all this way.”
“He got called in to work at the hospital for a double shift. I don't mind bringing it over, it was just one bag. Oh, and I found this package at your front door. I didn't know if you ordered anything delivered, so I brought it and left it with the bag.” Annalee said, pointing to the back door. There laid a small box, wrapped in brown paper. Calen lowered her brows.
“Well, I haven’t ordered anything, but I’ll check it out when I take everything inside. Can I walk you home?”
“Ah, no sweetie. I can handle it, I love to walk along the lake this time of day, its so pleasant.” She assured her.
Calen watched as Annalee turned and walked down the path and disappeared before opening her back door. She grabbed the bag and package and walked inside, dropping the bag on the floor. She held the package under her arm until she sat down, so she could take a close look at it. The outside was plain, with only the postmark from Nevada and her name and address in permanent marker marking the front. There was no return address. When she opened it, inside she found a videotape, plain black box and unmarked. When she turned the box over, a letter that was tucked inside fell out onto the floor. She picked it up, opened it and read aloud….
Dear Calen,
I don't post much, but I’m on
an email list for KISS that you’re on.
I know what your screen name is, even though no one else does. I know you like secrecy, so I haven’t told a
soul. I thought you might like
this. Its an imfamous tape that’s
surfaced and been passed around through lists all over the net. It’s called the Sauna Video. Nothing else needs to be said other than I
hope you enjoy it.
Sincerely,
Karizmgurl
Calen held the tape and looked at it, wondering if she wanted to play it, but the curiosity was overwhelming. What in the world was a Sauna tape? She asked herself over and over. She picked up the phone and called Sheri on her cell and told her to come over. She wanted to see it, but wasn't sure she wanted to do it alone.
It took nearly an hour for Sheri to arrive and she found Calen pacing across the floor of her downstairs room.
“What in the world is up with you?” Sheri asked, coming down to see what she was so anxious about. She saw Calen holding an empty tape case.
“I got a tape in the mail today. It’s called a Sauna tape and the person who sent it said I would find it very interesting.” Calen said, motioning for Sheri to sit down. “I didn't want to watch it alone, so I thought you might take a look at it.”
“Who sent it to you?”
“They didn't send me a real name, but their screen name. She is on a KISS list I’m on. I checked the members list while you were on your way and she’s there. She’s been a member since before I got there. I clicked on her name to view her profile, but nothing showed up except she was a female from Nevada. That’s it. I have no idea how she knew how I was, not even the owner of the list knows who I really am.”
Sheri sat down. “You think its porno?”
“I don't know, but with sauna in the title, it sure doesn’t sound innocent.” She laughed.
“Well, start this thing up and lets see what's going on.” Sheri said. “I have a feeling this is gonna be good.” Sheri laughed. Calen grabbed the VCR remote and started the tape.
The girls watched as the tape opened. It was grainy and slightly dark, but soon they could make out a man and a woman. They were both in a towel. Calen’s mouth dropped.
“Oh my God, its Paul!” she exclaimed. Sheri simply smiled. “Uh hummm, and it doesn’t look like they're gonna talk either.”
They both sat in stunned silence as Paul and the girl, whom they didn't recognize began to kiss. Soon, the kissing became more explicit.
“What in the world is this?” Sheri asked, almost breathless.
Calen willed herself to speak. “I…think I know what this is. The way Paul looks, hair and all is around ’83 or ’84. In Heavens on Fire video, Paul comes out of a room with a towel around him, and that girl is next to him. It’s a short piece of the video, but I think this must be something they taped and never used.”
“Yeah, yeah, very nice, now quiet so I can watch this.” Sheri demanded. Calen smiled in agreement and continued to watch. The tape was silent except for music that someone had obviously edited in at a later time, little snippets of different songs.
“Man I wish I could hear them instead of this music.” Sheri growled.
“Who cares? I can see what I need to see.” Calen responded. Her body melted at what she saw. A man whom she really cared for and was attracted to was kissing and groping and licking another woman. It was almost too much for her to stand. She saw Paul lying on top of the blond girl, with nothing but a towel separating them. One minute, they were lying down, the next they were standing. The kissing would stop, then start up again. Something very familiar to Calen, who was a pro at sex scenes in movies.
“Oh god, this is the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen.” Calen murmured under her breath. “If I was that girl, I would be raking my nails down his back. I…I just cant watch this any longer, but, I can’t…stop.”
“Shhhhhhhh, watch it or leave the room, but don't turn it off.” Sheri shot back. Calen shut up and watched until the tape stopped abruptly after about 10 minutes.
“Ahhhhhhhh, that’s all it is, 10 minutes worth?” Sheri shouted, running to the VCR. It was in vein, there was nothing left on the tape. She sat down on the floor in disbelief. “Oh man, that was…oh my God, that’s all I can say. Its incredible.”
“That’s all they intended to get. I bet it was gonna be used for an R rated version of Heaven’s on Fire, I wonder if they ever made one? Well, anyway, I can see why the tape ran the internet. It’s a must for any Paul girl.” Calen said, holding and reading the note once more.
“I agree.” Sheri said, getting up. “So, what’s your plans for tonight?”
“Uh oh…” Calen panicked. “I have to meet Paul at Evolution tonight. How in the world am I supposed to face him this way? After I just saw this?”
“Just tell him you saw it. He probably knows about it anyway.”
“I doubt that highly. If he did, I’m sure he doesn’t know that its made his way over the internet and into the VCR’s of female fans everywhere. I know him and I don't think he would be very happy with that.”
“Well, its up to you to tell him or to not, but you're gonna have to keep a straight face tonight with him.” Sheri agreed.
“Yeah, man, I need an out, bad.”
“Wanna pull a 99?” Sheri asked.
“Yes, very much. Keep your cell on, just in case. I’ve never had to do that with Paul, but you never know.”
“Ok, that’s fine, I’m going out with Jerry anyway, he won’t mind.”
“Good.” Calen sighed.
Part Three
8:15 came and Paul paced around Evolution nervously. The crowd was building slowly over the course of the half hour or so that he had arrived, but he wasn't feeling too claustrophobic just yet. He stayed in the back, next to the pool tables and sipped, or rather nursed, his rum and coke.
Calen on the other hand, was sitting in her car outside the club, waiting for 8:30 to arrive as not to appear too anxious. She was also taking time to gather her nerves. Disappointed in herself for being so silly, she laid her head down on the steering wheel in frustration, setting off her car horn, scaring her half to death. Good lord! She admonished herself in the car mirror. Its just Paul for goodness sake! He’s your friend. If you chicken out, you can always make something up and just sit back and enjoy yourself.
“Hey Calen, you ok?” came a knock on her car window. It was Jamie, one of the waitresses coming in to work. She rolled down her window.
“Yeah, I’m ok. I’ve got to do something uncomfortable and I’m getting up the nerve.”
“Blind date?” she asked with a grin.
“No, not tonight thank goodness. I have to...well, never mind. I arranged a 99 with Sheri anyway, just in case I need to make a fast getaway.”
“Uh, a 99? I don't think I’m familiar with that.” Jamie said, leaning against the car.
“Well, I have Sheri’s cell number in my cell speed dial as 99. So whenever I need her to call me, what I do is reach in my purse for something, like maybe a pen or whatever, then I hit 99, wait 5 seconds for it to ring in, hang up, and wait. She knows to call me back if she only hears one or two rings. That way, I get an excuse not only to talk, but to say there is an emergency. See?”
“Pretty good system. But, if you don't mind me asking, why isn’t Sheri on like #1 or something?”
“Good question. Well, it’s a flaw in my cell phone. The number 9 is the only number that I can dial that doesn’t make a sound. I don't know why. But by accident, I discovered that I couldn’t dial 9 on speed dial, but 99 worked and it doesn’t make a sound. So, I use that.”
Jamie smiled. “Bizarre, but I guess it makes sense. Well, ok. Have fun, I gotta go to work.”
Calen waved and waited for her to go inside before getting out and locking the car to go inside. The talk with Jamie had passed the time and warded off a good deal of her nerves, but as she started to open the door, her hands started to shake again. She shook her hands in the air and opened the door. Time was wasting and she wanted to see Paul.
She stepped inside and started looking toward the back of the club, knowing Paul wouldn’t be milling about too much in the crowd. Working her way through the people, she made it to the back where the pool tables were and soon found Paul, sitting by at a table and was surrounded by ravenous fans, clamoring for his autograph. He was definitely on, pleasing every fan and signing everything they offered. She stood back against the wall, watching him in wonder as he interacted with the fans. After about 5 minutes, the crowd subsided enough for Calen to get Paul’s attention. He smiled brightly at seeing her standing there, looking beautiful as ever. He got up and went over to her.
“Hey baby, you look incredible.” He said, hugging her tightly and kissing her cheek. Calen held her breath to conceal her sigh. She always loved to smell the cologne that lingered on his clothes.
“So do you.” Was all she could say back without sounding silly. Paul walked her over to the table and they sat down.
“You want anything to drink?” he asked, knowing she wasn't much of a drinker.
“Hummm, a virgin pena colada perhaps. Since I gotta drive home tonight.” She answered. While Paul ordered the drinks, Calen rang her hands under the table, trying to keep her mind on the right track. The fact that he sat so close and also the fact that not that long ago she was watching him make out with some girl on videotape wasn't helping much. Paul wasn't fairing any better. He could smell her perfume, Ghost Myst, which was by far his favorite. As he basked in her fragrance, his mind still was trying to concoct a believable fib to try on her in the event she asked that inevitable question. When the drinks came, the both took a moment to relax.
“So…” Calen started slowly. “Gene tells me that you guys are working on going to Sydney to do a full stage show with a symphony orchestra around February or March of next year.”
“Yeah, it’s still in the works, but I think it will be great. The whole symphony’s gonna be in full makeup.” Paul replied, sipping on his drink.
“Oh? Wow, that really should be something to see.”
“Definitely, I really look forward to it…yeah, it should be…” Paul’s words trailed away and the conversation died in a sea of awkwardness. Calen could sense that he seemed a bit uneasy.
“Paul?” she leaned in and touched his hand. “You seem distracted, are you ok?” Paul reached over and laid his hand on hers.
“Yeah, I guess so.” He started. The decision was made. He wasn't going to let her bring up the subject before him, so he did. “I guess I’m just wondering what you wanted to talk to me about.”
“Oh, that…” Calen’s mind panicked, but Paul continued.
“I think I know what it is. It’s about the letter on KOL…the one about me getting married again, right?”
“Well, yeah.” She started. “I guess it just took me by surprise, so I was wondering…”
“Who the woman was…” Paul interrupted.
Calen nodded in relief. “Yeah. See, I know that its none of my business and all, I just….” Her voice trailed off, trying to put her words in some as semblance of order.
“There is no woman.” Paul interrupted once again. Calen stopped cold.
“What?”
Paul continued. “There is no woman.” He paused to take a sigh and to think of something believable. “The person that sent the letter has sent one to me before, asking the same thing over and over. For her satisfaction, I sent an answer that wasn't true, in hopes she would stop asking. I know it probably doesn’t seem right to you, but I wanted to lay that part of my life to rest. Unfortunately, when I sent the letters back to Mike, that one was included by mistake. It was supposed to be read by the sender only. I didn't realize it till I went to see if they had been put up and found it. Mike has already taken it down.”
Calen paused, taking it all in. “Well, thanks for clearing that up for me. Like I said before, I know its none of my business, but I figured that if there was a special woman in your life, so special that marriage was a possibility, then I would hope you would confide in me.”
Paul chuckled. “Yes, absolutely. If there was a special woman in my life, believe me, you would be the first one to know.”
“Well, I’m just glad you explained it to me. You know how curious I can be sometimes.” She laughed.
“Yes, I know.” He joked. Calen playfully swatted him on the arm.
For the next half hour, the two of them nursed their drink and chatted like old friends. She gave him the low down on her underdeveloped love life and her over-busy schedule, promoting Star Trek: Nemesis. Paul gave her the details of their plans to do the Symphony shows and a new coming tour of Asia and parts of Europe towards the middle of next year. Paul took great pains to avoid the issue of his own love life, including his relationship, or lack there of, with Leslie. He just thought it best not to keep up the constant trail of lies that would surely slip out so fast he probably wouldn’t be able to keep track of them. On the other hand, it seemed to Calen that Paul was too tightlipped about his relationship with Leslie all of a sudden. It confused her that someone who seemed more than ready to talk openly about such personal things would keep her at arms length in that area. She resigned herself to the fact that she was reading too much into it and let the matter drop. Besides, she was having too much fun and didn't want to bother with anything so trivial.
Just as they were both settling in to enjoy the music and each other’s company, Tracy, an old companion of Paul’s walked up to the table. Calen, who always tried to be nice, always had a very hard time being civil to someone like Tracy. Most men loved to have such a beautiful woman on their arm, while the women knew her game immediately. Tracy zeroed right in on Paul and didn't care whom he was with.
“Hi there handsome.” The syrup poured out of Tracy’s mouth. “How are you tonight?”
“Hi yourself Tracy, how are you?” Paul replied.
Tracy smiled brightly. “Great baby. Haven’t seen you around much.” She wiggled her boney butt right in next to Paul. “Oh, hi Calen.” She muttered.
“Tracy.” Calen replied civilly, but with a touch of coldness.
Paul didn't really care for Tracy; he knew her intentions from the very beginning, yet the opportunity couldn’t have been better to throw Calen off the trail. Even though he didn't like to do it, he decided to play Tracy’s game. When he found himself with Tracy’s hand on the inside of this thigh, he let it stay.
Tracy made the bold move of letting Paul know just what kind of mood she was in by placing her hand on his thigh and was quite surprised when he let it stay. It amused her that Paul was sitting with the very beautiful Calen McGregor, yet allowed her to flirt with him in such an obvious way. Perhaps there’s hope for me after all, she thought to herself, smiling. Getting braver, she started sliding her hand up Paul’s thigh, but only an inch or so at a time and barely detectable. Paul knew what she was doing and allowed it only as long as Calen could see it.
Calen indeed could see it. There were no tablecloths covering the high tables and it was very obvious what was going on underneath and it sickened her. She was also confused as to why Paul would let Tracy get away with what she was pulling; she really thought he knew her game. When Paul saw Calen reach down to get her purse, Paul ran his hand down over Tracy’s and moved it even further up his leg, while above the table, he let Tracy nibble on his ear.
“You know Paul baby,” she cooed in his ear. “it’s been a long time since we spent any time together. I miss it.”
“I miss it too…” he answered, nibbling on her lips softly. “Its been a while since I had a good long night.” He laughed.
“Ohhh, is that an invitation?” Tracy asked.
“Hummm, could be.”
“You guys move fast don't ya?” Calen asked, half joking, half serious. She simply hoped to break the sickening conversation before she threw up.
Tracy wasn't buying it. “I sure do, that is, when I find a good man.” She giggled at Paul. The closer they got, the happier Tracy got.
As Paul and Tracy got even cozier, Calen decided she had enough and decided to pull a 99, and fast. She reached into her purse for a stick of gum, and dialed 99 on her cell, counted silently to 5, and then hung up. When she sat her purse down, she finished her drink and waited. About a half a minute later, her cell phone rang and she breathed a sigh of relief.
“Excuse me.” She said and pulled out her cell to answer it. Tracy wasn't paying a bit of attention but Paul was. He watched intently, knowing she has just pulled a 99 on him and he smiled in quiet satisfaction. He was probably the only man alive that knew about the 99 trick. He was relieved that Calen wanted out, but also sad that she was leaving. He wanted to throw her off the trail, but certainly didn't want her to think he was a heel.
Calen played the part well, pretending that the person on the other end of the cell was telling her something very important when in reality it was Sheri, who was complaining about the lousy service at the restaurant she was at with Jerry. When she hung up, she opted for the ‘baby sitting excuse’ as a perfect way out.
“Is everything ok?” Paul asked, observing Calen’s concerned, but fake, expression.
“No, I need to go.” She sighed, disappointingly.
Paul played along. “Oh? So soon? What's wrong?”
“Sheri called and she’s on a date with Jerry tonight. Tim got called in unexpectedly to work and Jenny is already at work, so they have no babysitter for the kids. Since I’m closer to Tim’s than she is, she asked if I would pick up the kids and stay with them till she got there. Its only for about an hour or so, I could come back later…”
“Oh, its ok.” Paul said. “I understand that you have to go…”
“I think I can occupy Paul the rest of the night.” Tracy giggled. She was very happy to see Calen leaving.
Calen got her keys and stood up. “Well Paul, I’ll see ya later.”
“Let me walk you to your car.” He started to stand, but Tracy’s hand on his thigh prevented him from moving. Calen raised her hand.
“No, its ok, you guys have fun, I’ll call you later.” She said, anxious to get out of there and even more anxious to get the mental picture of Tracy and Paul out of her mind.
Calen woke up and noticed it was still dark outside. She rolled over and took a peek at her clock, it showed 3:45am. Ughhh, she moaned to herself. She just couldn’t shake the thought of what Paul and Tracy were doing at that moment. Did they go home together? Were they lying together in Paul’s bed, sleeping peacefully in each other’s arms? She couldn’t bear to know the answer, but couldn’t bear not knowing either.
Paul rolled over and pulled the covers tight over his head. The clock showed 3:45am, but he had only been in bed for a little more than an hour. He felt terrible for what he had done to Calen and must have picked up the phone 50 times to call and tell her the truth, but chickened out every time. In frustration, he clutched his pillow and eventually fell asleep…alone.
The next day Calen couldn’t wait to get to Shannon and ask her if Paul and Tracy spent the night. She knew that it was a good possibility that Shannon wouldn’t know, but it was better than trying to ask Paul. After standing under the hot water, contemplating what she would say to Shannon, she stepped out and wrapped the towel around her. As she was digging into her pile of clean clothes she didn't bother to put away, the phone rang. She barely got to it by the time she managed to find her way out of the closet. She flopped on the bed and said a cheerful hello.
“Its Shannon.” The voice on the other end said. “Did you talk to Paul last night?” she asked.
“Yeah, he straightened the whole thing out. The answer was just a phony to throw off a fan who wouldn’t let the issue drop that’s all.” She answered; casually sorting through a pile of socks she had taken from her closet.
“Oh, well ok then.” Shannon replied, not believing a word.
“Anything wrong?” she asked.
“Well, sorta.” Shannon started, not sure how to break the news. “I was hoping you and Paul were, or had, maybe, uh…”
“We what?”
“I had hoped you had gotten the nerve to tell Paul how you really feel.”
“No, after the letter thing got straightened out, I decided not to go there. Besides, Tracy showed up and Paul got very cozy with her.”
“Tracy? Tracy Shurman?” Shannon asked.
“Yeah, why?”
“I heard Paul talking about her about a month ago to Gene. He said he ended his relationship with her cause she was nothing but a gold digger and warned Gene to steer clear of her too.”
“Well, that’s certainly not the feeling I got from him last night. He was very chummy with her, and I mean VERY chummy.”
“He had to be pulling something on her, or you for that matter.”
“I don't know.” Calen sighed. “This whole thing is nuts. I wish I had never seen that letter.”
“Sorry. But this isn’t over yet.” Shannon warned.
“What do you mean?”
“I talked to Nick this morning and he told me that the cameraman, John, that had been over yesterday to take pictures of Gene and the house was talking on the phone to his supervisor. Nick overheard him saying he got a great piece of film of a conversation between you and I pertaining to Paul. He said it was pretty juicy.”
Calen sat straight up. “He recorded all of what I said about Paul?” she practically shouted into the phone.
“That’s what I’m afraid of.” She replied.
“Ohhh no, what do I do now? This very minute that piece of tape could air on Extra. That’s just fucking wonderful!”
“Don't worry, they wouldn’t air something without the approval of the parties involved, being you and me and he knows that if he were to ask permission to use it we both would say no. He knows he did wrong taping it in the first place. What I’m afraid of is that he might give it to Paul. Nick said something about hearing John mention dropping by Paul’s house this morning.”
“Oh God, your right. If he gives it to Paul, and he sees it….”
“See why I was hoping you had already told him?”
“Yeah, now I do. Problem is that I have to go to Beverly’s office and view proofs for the Nemesis photo shoot I did last week. I can’t get over to Paul’s till later, do you think you could?”
“I’m sorry I can’t. Sophie and I have plans today. I’ve been putting it off for a week now cause of my own scheduling conflicts.”
She sighed. “Well, its outta my hands now. I just hope that John decides to keep that tape to himself. Do you have a number that I can get in touch with him?”
“Not off hand, but I can find it. I’m sure Gene has it in his office.”
“Good. Leave it on my cell’s voice mail, I really need to get going. I have to try and figure out a way to concentrate while keeping myself from freaking out. As soon as I finish the proofs, I’ll run by Paul’s and see if he got the tape. God, I hope he doesn’t.”
Shannon laughed. “Good luck.”
Paul stepped out of the shower and toweled off after his long shower. He was soon met with a knock on his door. Scrambling to get on some pants, he ran for the door, hoping that maybe it was Calen. If it was Calen, he thought to himself, I wouldn’t need pants. He chucked as he fumbled towards the door.
“Just a minute…” she shouted. He threw open the door. It was John, the Extra cameraman. He had a very satisfied look on his face.
“Paul, can I come in a sec?” he asked.
Paul, being a bit confused, opened the door wider and watched him walk in. “So, what do I owe the pleasure of this visit? You wanna sit down in the living room?”
“No, thank you, I wont be long. I finished taping pieces for upcoming segments for Extra yesterday. While editing, I found something you might be interested in.” he started.
“While editing huh?” Paul asked, not buying it. This wasn't the first time John had brought little snippets of tape pertaining to Calen that didn't make it to the final segment.
“Well, let’s just say that I ‘caught’ something you will really like.”
Paul smirked. “Even more than the ones before?” he asked.
“Yes, much, much more.” John answered, handing the tape to Paul. “When you get a chance today, take a peek at it. I can’t use it in the segment because she has no idea I have it, so this is the only copy that has this piece on it. You can do what you want with it later.”
“You didn't get her permission this time?” Paul asked, confused.
“No, not this time. When you see it, you will see why. I didn't want to get into trouble, but I just couldn’t stop myself from taping it.”
Paul’s eyes narrowed. “If this is of anything vulgar…taping her in the shower or changing clothes…”
“Oh no, nothing like that. Just a conversation she had with Shannon, she just didn't know I was there.”
Paul scowled as he took the tape and shut the door behind John as he left. Still dripping wet from the shower, he walked back up to his bedroom and sat down on this bed after putting the tape in the VCR. He hesitated for a moment, wondering about the ethical repercussions of watching something he had no business seeing. He pushed PLAY, anyway.
He saw immediately that it was Calen and Shannon, sitting in Gene’s living room. John was so far away that the room appeared a bit dark. The camera shook for a few seconds and nothing could be understood on the tape but mumbling as John adjusted to get a good shot, but then, a clear shot of the two of them came into view and an obvious dialogue could be heard.
“Oh, I do, she’s great, it’s
just…ugh, never mind.”
“She’s not you.”
“Is that so awful? I mean, I’ve known Paul for what, 5 years now and were really close friends, but you know how long I’ve wanted to be more than friends? Hell, I used to dream of marrying him. Of course, I was only 12.”
“Calen…Why can’t you just tell
Paul what you're telling me? You know
him as well as I do. He would listen
and understand.”
“You know how many women scream that they love him? I’m simply one in a million. There is a whole sea of us like that.”
Paul couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Right there before his eyes, there was Calen, professing her true feelings for him to Shannon. He knew she didn’t have a clue that the cameraman was taping her, she couldn’t have known. This new revelation made his resolve even stronger, more determined now to end this tension between them and let her know that he also felt the same. As soon as the conversation ended and Calen left the living room, the tape shut off and went to black. Paul sat in silence, his mind running wide open with ideas of how to deal with the situation. He had to confront her with this new information, but he knew she might shut down and deny any of it. But, the very thought of her being without him another minute just didn't compute anymore. He grabbed his car keys and sped off to find her.
Meanwhile, Calen was in her car, driving as fast as she could to get to Paul’s house. She prayed the whole way that she could get to Paul’s in hopes of intercepting the tape before he could see it. Her mind raced with possibilities, many too upsetting to contemplate. She just couldn’t take it if Paul saw her true feelings being spilled out like that. She was sure he wouldn’t feel the same. When she pulled up into his driveway, a wave of terror broke over her. How could she explain what she was doing there in the first place? If he didn't see the tape and didn't know, what could she tell him instead? She felt a sudden tinge of dizziness and realized that she was giving herself a panic attack. Calm down, she instructed herself. There’s no need to freak out. She took a deep breath and the dizziness subsided. Slowly, she walked to his door and knocked. When there was no answer, she walked to his back door and peeked in. His TV was not on and she could see any lights. She peeked around the rest of the house, looking for something that might resemble a package, yet found nothing. Oh, thank God, he isn’t even home, she said out loud, maybe he hasn’t been home all day. Then the regret began. She truly did want to see Paul after last night. She had too many questions about Tracy that were unanswered. She walked back out to her car, a bit more disappointed, and left.
Paul grabbed his cell and dialed Sheri’s number. Once he had calmed down in the car, he realized that Calen had mentioned having to be somewhere today, but he forgot where. To his despair, Sheri didn't answer her phone. Were they together? He reluctantly called Calen on her cell, trying hard to find an excuse that she would buy. When she didn't answer her cell, he gave up and decided to try her house anyway. Since she didn't answer her cell, maybe she was home after all.
Calen sat down in her car at Paul’s house to hear her phone beeping. She picked it up and checked it only to find a missed call. She checked, but it showed no caller ID, nothing unusual on missed calls. Whoever it is will call back, she thought, as she left Paul’s driveway.
Paul pulled up in Calen’s driveway and parked on the side. As always, he walked past the front door and down the side steps to her back door. He stopped at the glass back door and peeked inside for a moment to see her TV on. He knocked and waited. No answer. Confused, he knocked again. Still, no answer. Perhaps she was in the shower, he chuckled hopefully. He waited for a few minutes more and knocked again, this time louder in case she wasn't downstairs. He decided to go see if her car was in the garage since he didn't see it in the front of the house. He crouched down and peeked in the small window of her garage and only saw the Trans-Am. Her Camry, which she drove to work, was gone. Convinced she was not home, he went back to the front of her house. In disappointment, he sat on her front step to think about what to do next.
Calen pulled onto her long driveway, a bit more at ease that Paul had probably not been home to see the tape yet. As she approached her house, she was shocked to see Paul’s car in front. She parked just behind him and wondered where he was. Her answer came when she spotted Paul, sitting at the top of her front steps. When Paul saw Calen pull in, he stood up. Calen grabbed her purse and got out of the car.
“Uhhhh..hi…” she tried to get out. He met her at the bottom of the stairs. Both chuckled when their words left them.
“Why are you here?” she asked.
“Uh, well, I just wanted to see…” he couldn’t continue. He was chickening out, fast.
“Do you want to come inside?” she walked up her stairs, with Paul following.
Paul and Calen went inside and downstairs where she fixed him a cup of coffee left over from earlier that morning. It was the only thing she could do to get away long enough to gather her thoughts. Besides, coffee wasn't a big deal, they had coffee all the time, and this time shouldn’t be different, right?
For nearly a minute, they both sat in silence, staring at one another. Paul tried to sip his coffee as nonchalantly as possible, trying to come up with a good enough excuse to justify his stopping by. He had never needed a reason for visiting before, but today, it just seemed as if he needed to explain. Calen waited for an answer to her earlier question, hoping perhaps it would take the light off her own reason for visiting him, even though he didn't know it.
“So, how was the rest of your night last night?” Paul asked.
“Oh, fine. Sheri got the kids after about an hour and then I went on to bed.” She lied.
“Good.” he smiled. Another silence fell on them both.
Calen sucked in and decided to go for it. “So did you and Tracy have a good evening?”
Paul paused, wondering if he should try to make her think that Tracy spent the night. He decided it wasn't worth it. “It was fine. She tends to come on a bit strong though, so I decided to leave about 10pm. I stayed up watching an old sci-fi movie, then I went to bed.”
Calen sighed, feeling silly that she had even thought he would sleep with Tracy. But, she wanted to know why he was letting her hang all over him. “If she was coming on so strong, then why did you let her? I thought you knew she was just a gold digger.”
“I know. I just playin around with her. You know, beating her at her own game.”
“Oh…you are good at that.” She teased. They both started easing up a bit. Calen was convinced that he hadn't seen the tape. Certainly if he had, he would have been there to tell her that he just wanted to be friends.
As Paul sat down his cup, he noticed something sitting on her table. It was a tape. On the outside, the label was marked with something that was a bit smeared, but what he could make out was his name. He reached over and picked it up. When Calen turned around and saw what he was holding, she blushed. “What’s this?” he asked.
“Nothing.” She lied.
“It has my name on it. What gives?”
She decided he had a right to know. She prayed he wouldn’t get too upset. “Well, it’s a tape a KISS fan sent me. Its been circulating through the Internet. Its quite, uh, popular for a very interesting reason.”
“Ohhhh, the sauna tape.” He answered.
“You know about it?”
“Yeah. I found out a year or two ago about its existence.” He said matter of factly.
“And you aren’t upset about it?”
He chuckled. “What am I supposed to do about it? It’s gone too far to stop.”
“I guess so.”
“Did you look at it?” he asked. The question caught her off guard.
She blushed again. “Well, I didn't see the label right away, so I put it in and had no idea what it was, so…”
Paul moved a bit closer. “Did you like it?”
“Paul…” she laughed nervously.
“Sorry, just wondering.” He teased.
“The quality isn’t that great, but I could see what you were….uh, doing.”
He smiled so large he had to turn away. He loved seeing her squirm around the question. Just as things were getting a bit more cozy, the phone rang. Calen got up and punched her speakerphone. “Hello?”
“Hey, did you find Paul yet? Did John give him the tape?” Sheri shouted over her cell phone so fast she didn't have time to take off the speaker.
Calen put the receiver to her ear. “Paul is here.” She said, completely embarrassed.
“I got your message on my cell just now. Did he see the tape?” she asked.
“I don't know.” She tried to act cool, but Paul was staring at her. He heard everything Sheri said and was just trying to figure out how she knew about the tape.
“I’ll call you later.” She told Sheri and hung up before she could respond. She stood silently in front of Paul, wondering if he heard and what he knew.
“So…” he started. He was tired of sneaking around and lying, it was time to come clean. “You know about the tape John made.”
Calen backed up and leaned against the wall. It was all gonna come out now. “Shannon told me that Nick overheard John talking about it. Naturally, she told me.”
“He shouldn’t have taped you and Shannon like that. It wasn't right. That was private between you and her.”
“You saw it didn't you?” she asked. She could tell by his expression, that he had. She shook her head. “Oh man…”
“I think its time we talk. Come over here.”
“No, I would rather stand.” She wanted to stay away so he couldn’t see her cry.
“Please, come sit down.” He held out his hand.
She shook her head. “Just start talking. Lets get it over with.”
He stood up and walked over to her. She tried to look away but he wasn't having any of it. He took her chin and turned her to face him. “If I had known exactly what was on that tape, I wouldn’t have looked at it, but the fact is, I saw it and I heard what you said. Let’s just deal with this. Neither one of us are being honest with each other. I have to confess something to you.” He took a deep breath. “I only played around with Tracy to get you to leave last night.” She looked at him in shock, but didn't speak, so he continued. “I wanted to throw you off the track about the letter. I never meant for anyone to read that. I lied to you when I said I just answered it to shut up the girl who wrote it. I do have someone special in my life. That answer was the absolute truth and from my heart.”
“Who…who is it?” she asked, expecting him to answer that it was Leslie.
He smiled and looked down at her. “I’m looking at her.”
She drew a breath. “Me? I don't understand…”
“Yes. It was silly of me not to tell you a long time ago, its just our friendship was going so strong that I just didn't want to do anything to spoil it.”
“You’ve said many times that you could tell me anything, why didn't you tell me this?”
“I could ask you the same thing.”
She laughed. Well, hello Paul, who was it that said the very first time we met that I loved you?”
“That was a fan speaking.”
“I know. I guess I just didn't want to mess up anything either.”
“So,” he stroked her cheek. “What do we do now?”
Her head fell back against the wall, her knees going weak under her. She looked up right into his eyes.
“I…I don't know if I can do this.” She whispered. “I’ve dreamed of this for so long, but…” Calen tried to speak, but Paul stopped her mouth with his own, determined to let his actions do the talking for both of them. For a moment, she tried to pull away, but her heart wouldn’t let her, his kiss was too powerful to stop.
“I don't know if I can keep my distance from you any longer. If you don't want me Calen, you will have to be the one to pull away.”
She grabbed Paul by the shirt, it was too late to stop now. “I’m not going to stop you.”
He slipped his arms around her waist and pulled her to him, their lips pressing together. They were so wrapped up in each other’s embrace that they almost forgot to breath. Paul’s lips soon found her neck and when she felt his tongue slipping across her skin, she drew in a breath. He kneeled down before her, slowly, while his hands found the curves of her hips along the way. Facing her stomach, he pressed his lips against her soft skin and his hands ran along the inside of her thighs. “I’ve been waiting for this for so long, that I have no idea what part of you to taste first.” He whispered, his breath tickling her skin. “I already tasted your sweet lips…what's next? Hummm…your skin is so soft, just like I knew it would be….”
Calen could hardly stand what he was doing to her. Her legs started shaking and Paul could feel it. He stood up, as slowly as he knelt down earlier, so he wouldn’t miss any inch.
“I…can’t stand any longer. Hold me.” She commanded. He responded by picking her up by the hips. “Wrap your legs around me.” He said, which she did. With her arms around his neck and him holding her tight, he walked her into the bedroom. He sat down on the bed, with her still straddling his waist. She refused to let go of his neck, loving the feel of his breath as he whispered her name. She ran her hands through his hair and held firm while Paul’s lips planted light kisses on her neck. His hands ran up her back and under her shirt, gently lifting it up over her head. She never protested anything he did, and wasn't about to start. When she was free of her shirt, he took his fingers and traced from her chin down to between her breasts. His finger slipped under her bra strap, letting it fall loosely off her shoulder. He then gently nibbled on her now bare shoulder. Calen do nothing but close her eyes and enjoy the attention she was getting, this had by far exceeded her best dreams. She unbuttoned his shirt and slid it off his shoulders and gently ran her nails down his back, which caused him to flinch a bit.
“Little alley cat, huh?” he teased, swatting her ass playfully. She chuckled. They kissed once more, this time Calen was ready to take this as far as they could go. She stood up in front of him and started to unbutton her jeans, but Paul quickly stopped her.
“Oh no no…that’s my job.” He moaned. He unbuttoned her jeans and slid them down her curvaceous hips to the floor. Now all that stood between him and his prize was underwear. He reached for her panties, but she stopped him cold in his tracks.
“Oh no no…not yet.” She teased. Pushing him back on the bed, she climbed on his waist, straddling him again, but this time, she unbuttoned his jeans and slid them down off his waist. Lying on his chest, she kissed him, while her other hand ran down his chest, exploring what was just between the two of them. His hardness was already hot and busting through his underwear when she slid her hand over it. Paul closed his eyes and groaned loudly at her touch. She gripped it solidly in her hand.
“Want me to stop?” she whispered in his ear.
He nibbled on her earlobe, keeping it softly between his teeth. “No…don't stop.”
She let go slightly, and moved her hand up and down his shaft, friction building a bit on the cloth of his underwear. His hips moved with the movement of her hand. “Maybe we should lose these before they catch on fire.” She moaned. Paul lifted his hips and she slid the underwear off and into the floor. She kept her hand in place on his shaft and raked her nails all the way down, cupping and slightly messaging his balls. She let go and allowed him to sit up just enough for him to lose his shirt, and then she pushed him back down and ran her tongue over his chest, starting at the base of his neck and ending right at his belly button. Paul’s moans were almost too much for her to take, yet she kept going, wanting to see just how much he could take before he turned the tables on her. She didn't have to wait long. In one swift motion, he turned her over and pinned her down with his weight. His hand found the clasp of her bra, and immediately unhooked it. He ran his hand under the bra, lifting it up off her captive breasts. Her nipples were hard and ready for his touch, and when he gently sucked them, a low moan escaped her lips, while she arched her back. She grabbed at the back of his head, pushing him down on her nipples even harder and he accommodated by nibbling them, while his other hand ran down her stomach and graced over the top of her underwear. He wouldn’t allow his hand to touch her down there just yet, he still intended to tease her a bit, but her eyes begged him. He slipped his hand in her underwear and slid them off her hips. Then his hands ran back up her long legs, stopping just at the top of her thighs. She parted her legs slightly and allowed his fingers to explore her wetness. But it wasn't enough for Paul, he just didn't want to feel his fingers inside her, he wanted to be inside her. He lifted his hips, his body asking for permission to go inside and she welcomed him. They both fell into each other for a moment, taking the time to let their mouths explore one another once more. Each time he went in and out of her she would gasp and grip tighter to him. Their breath became more labored as they moved their bodies together, faster and faster until that final moment where they both cried out together. It was quick, but neither of them cared. In their eyes, it was perfect. They wrapped up in the bed and napped until dark.
A ringing phone woke both of them. It was so dark in the room, that Calen could hardly find the phone to pick it up. “Hello?” She whispered, hoping it didn't wake Paul.
“Its Shannon. Did you find Paul?” she asked.
“Uh…yeah, I found him.” She chuckled slightly.
“Well, what happened?”
“He’s lying here next to me.”
“WHAT???” Shannon screamed. It was so loud Calen almost dropped the phone.
“Would you be quiet…”
“Sorry. That’s the last thing I expected.”
“Well, it just happened. I didn't expect it either.”
“Wait till I tell Gene.” Shannon giggled.
“Don't tell Gene, at least not yet. Let Paul make that decision. You know how Gene can be.” She begged.
“Ok I wont say anything. I gotta run. Have fun.”
Calen hung up the phone and laid her head back down on Paul’s chest, listening to him breath and grateful he didn't wake up.
“So, is Shannon happy now?” Paul asked. Calen jumped.
“I didn't know you were awake.” She said, rolling over to turn on her light. She sighed at how gorgeous he looked lying there on her bed.
“The phone woke me up.” He said, smiling.
“Sorry.” She pouted playfully.
He kissed her and curled her up in his arms, rolling her over on her back. He shoved her legs apart and in one swift motion, pushed himself inside her. She gasped out loud. He kept himself deep inside her, and didn't move. Pushing her hands above her head, he looked deep in her eyes. “Now,” he teased. “I want to know about this sauna video.”
“What…do you want to…uh, know?” she tried to speak, but when she did, he would move in and out of her.
“How did you….feel, seeing me and that girl together?” he asked, his lips brushing hers slightly.
“I didn't feel anything…” she tried to lie, but he pulled himself out of her.
“I don't think that’s true.” He whispered, using the head of his penis to tease her.
“Ok, ok…I was jealous of her.” She cried out. He slammed himself inside her again.
“Jealous? Why?” he started moving slowly in and out of her.
“Ahh…I…” she tried to speak.
“I can’t hear you.” He started thrusting harder.
“I hated her!” she cried out again.
He started kissing her neck as his pace increased. “Why baby…”
“Cause I….I wanted to be her. I wanted to be the one with you.” She finally confessed. Paul slowed down and smiled at her.
“That’s all I wanted to hear.” He chuckled, starting to pull himself out of her. She wasn't having any of it.
“Oh no you tease!” she wrapped her legs around his waist to keep him still. “You're not gonna stop now.” She quickly turned him over on his back. Slowly, she started grinding her hips.
“I think I’m in trouble.” Paul laughed.
“You're right. You're mine, tonight, and always.” They both kissed once more.
